La critique de Backpacking light est extrêmement positive, la veste représente ce qui se fait de plus léger aujourd'hui, le pantalon serait quasiment a égalité de poids avec le Golite Reed.

Bonsoir,

Je n'ai pas pu lire la revue sur le site qui n'est pas en accès libre. Mais, j'ai regarde sur le site le matos. Voici le specs du tissu :

Nanolite
100% Nylon ripstop, waterproof/breathable PU coated shell with DWR
An ultra lightweight fabric that is extremely strong and durable
Jacket features a microporus DWR finish
Pant utilizes a hydrophilic water repellent finish for added durability
Jacket 800mm waterproofness, 3,000 g/m²/24 hrs breathability
Pant 3,000mm waterproofness, 3,000 g/m²/24 hrs breathability

Pour la veste une imperméabilité de 800mm neuve, c'est vraiment très peu. Certaines microfibres sont plus performantes. AMHA Plus un coupe vent très déperlant  qu'un imperméable....
Après cela respire comme un Kway2000.....

Mais c'est vraiment super léger.....

Effectivement, il y a de quoi être dubitatif mais les gars de Backpacking light l'ont testé pendant 4 mois (poussé le test), y a même une photo assez hallucinante, afin de s'assurer de l'étanchéité du produit ils ont simulé la pression exercée par une bretelle mouillée de sac à dos, à cette fin ils ont placé une paire de chaussettes mouillées sur la veste et maintenu le tout bien serré grace à une sangle, le test a duré 6 heures et ils réimbibaient les chaussettes toutes les 30 minutes. Résultat : aucune entrée d'eau.

Un petit extrait de l'article, au début ils se demandent où est la faille et se rappellent des premiers tests non concluants du produit, apparemment le fabricant a ratrapé le coup :

So, what's the catch? It could possibly be the jacket's 800 millimeter waterproofness rating. That's a little over 1 psi, which means that water under any more pressure than rainfall might go through it. Aestute readers will recall that Sierra Designs had some problems with previous versions of the Nanolite fabric not being waterproof, and a production flaw where the pockets were not seam taped. So, in this review of the "finished" version of the Isotope rainwear, it is important that we decisively determine that it is in fact waterproof.

In four months of field testing in normal rain and snow conditions, we didn't detect any leakage at all. We further tested it by wearing the rainsuit over white cotton clothing in a warm shower at 30 psi - still no leakage. Finally, we rigged up a test to see if the jacket would leak under a simulated shoulder strap putting pressure on it in constantly wet conditions - no leakage again. So we conclude that the Isotope is in fact stormproof.

Salut Je déterre ce sujet pour savoir si certains d'entre vous auraient essayé cette veste, je cherche une veste pluie pas trop cher pour ma cher et tendre.
Je suis passé sur le site, et maintenant voilà ce qu'ils en disent.

J'ai vu l'ancienne de l'année passé(2008) à 55$, c'est pour cela que je suis intéressé. Maintenant à voir avec la taille (toujours ce problème! 147cm, dur de trouver quoique ce soit)

Ou alors la virga de chez Golite, mais je ne connais pas les tailles toujours,,la montane quaddro DT (proche de l'isotope en terme de caractéristiques) et la Particle Jacket de chez Montbell qui affiche c'est caractéristique:
